Gaya, Jun 02: A district court here today transferred the bail petition of sacked Bihar minister Surendra Yadav in connection with the abduction and torture of a businessman and illegal confinement of policemen, to the District Judge (DJ) court where it would be heard on Wednesday. Additional District Judge B B Pandey transferred the case to District Judge Jawahar Chaudhary's court on the grounds that it was the DJ court that had rejected Yadav's bail and remanded him to 14 days judicial custody on Friday. The DJ is on leave and would hear the case on June four. The case relates to kidnapping and torture of a Patna-based businessman Atul Prakash in early April. RJD MLC Azad Gandhi and Pappu Yadav, relative of Subhas Yadav, Chief Minister Rabri Devi's brother and RJD MLC were also allegedly part of the businessman's kidnapping while being taken to Patna in connection with a case lodged at Kotwali in the state capital. Sub-inspector of Kotwali police station in the state capital Ramakant Ram, now in jail for his alleged involvement in Atul's kidnapping and illegal confinement, managed to reach the then Gaya police superintendent Ravindra Shanakaran on April eight and narrated the entire story after which an FIR was registered with Ramapur police station against Yadav, Azad Gandhi and Pappu Yadav.
