EC directive to remove `achievement` hoardings
New Delhi, Oct 13: The Election Commission today directed the governments of the five states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram where assembly elections are slated to be held on December 01 and November 20 respectively to remove all hoardings and posters depicting their achievements.

This directive comes in the wake of the model code of
conduct coming into effect in these states, commission sources
said.
In a communication to Chief Secretaries of these states, the poll panel directed them to remove hoardings and posters even if they had been put up before October 06, the sources said.
The commission has sought a compliance report within ten days.
