Kanpur, Aug 25: A rare 'ashtadhatu' idol of Goddess Sita was stolen from a temple in Chandreshwar Hata under Moolganj Police circle here, the police said. PN getting of the theft, which occurred yesterday, infuriated residents of the locality came out on the streets and blocked the main road for a few hours. The road blockade was lifted on the timely arrival of local MLA Salil Vishnoi and senior police officials, who assured them of recovering the idol as early as possible. Police have begun investigations in the case.
