Bhopal, Feb 20: opposition BJP members today walked out of Madhya Pradesh Assembly to express dissatisfaction with Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's reply to the discussion on the admissibility of an adjournment motion relating to the Bhojshala issue, while Singh charged them with not being prepared to hear the “bitter” truth about themselves. The adjournment motion on the issue was moved by Himmat Kothari (BJP) and several others who claimed that the state government had the powers to lift the ban on the entry to the Bhojshala but was not doing so for the sake of votes.
They said that it was because of this that the agitation conducted by Hindu organisations during the last two days in Dhar had been repressed and the agitators were lathi-charged.
The chief minister reiterated that Bhojshala was the property of the Archaeological Survey of India and the state government had no control over it.
When Singh began describing the history of Bhojshala, the leader of the opposition Babulal Gaur suddenly opposed him and along with other BJP members staged a walkout, shouting slogans.
Expressing surprise at the BJP walk-out, Singh said he had said nothing which could have been found objectionable by the opposition party members and charged them with adopting an attitude under which they were "not prepared to hear the bitter truth about themselves". Bureau Report
