Samata`s peace mission to Assam
Patna, Nov 26: Concerned over continued attacks on Biharis in Assam, the state unit of Samata Party today decided to send an 11-member delegation to Assam on a peace mission.
Patna, Nov 26: Concerned over continued attacks on Biharis in Assam, the state unit of Samata Party today decided to send an 11-member delegation to Assam on a peace mission.
The 11-member Samata Party delegation would leave for
Assam on November 28 and during the two-day stay in Assam they
would meet the families of Bihari labourers who were killed in
the ethnic violence, Samata legislature party leader Upendra
Kushwaha and party spokesman Udai Narayan Choudhary told
reporters.
They said the delegation would also call on the Assam Governor Lt General Ajay Singh and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and leaders of Assam Gana Parishad and request them to initiate measures to restore peace.
The 11-member Samata peace delegation to Assam includes Samata legislature party leader Upendra Kushwaha, Udai Narayan Choundhry, Dinesh Prasad (both MLAs), state vice-president C P Sinha, general secretary Dr Harendra and others.
They said the delegation would also call on the Assam Governor Lt General Ajay Singh and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and leaders of Assam Gana Parishad and request them to initiate measures to restore peace.
