Shalini Prakash, Saina Nehwal qualify for main draw
Mumbai, June 02: Shalini Prakash of Karnataka and Saina Nehwal of Andhra Pradesh qualified for the women`s singles main draw with easy wins in the final round of the Rs four lakh prize money All India Major Badminton Tournament at the NSCI courts here today.
Mumbai, June 02: Shalini Prakash of Karnataka and Saina Nehwal of Andhra Pradesh qualified for the women's singles main draw with easy wins in the final round of the Rs four lakh prize money All India Major Badminton Tournament at the NSCI courts here today.
Shalini Prakash drubbed Reeta Pitke of Maharashtra 15-3 while Saina crushed another local girl Niha Rane 15-8.
Also making it to the main draw were Saumya Padhye of Rajasthan and Sampadha Ghatnekar of Railways.
In the men's singles final qualifying round, Abhijit Nampalli of Karnataka, Anshuman Hazarika of Assam and Siddharth Jain of Petroleum Sports Control Board (PSCB) recorded easy wins.
