New Delhi: It is no news that due to air pollution the life expectancy of Indians has been reduced drastically.
But, recent World Health Organization statistics reveal more terrifying facts about the air pollution in India. It states that 1.4 billion people in India die pre-maturely due to air pollution which accounts to the loss of one life every 23 seconds.
Come 2030 and fuels we use today would have made air so toxic with pollutants that it would be close to impossible to live and move without an oxygen kit as a permanent burden and part of lifestyle.
The video that you are about to watch (launched by Hawa Badlo, a Gurgaon based startup Social Cloud Ventures) questions the way we are dealing with this man-made calamity. It conjures up a specter of people looking pale and joyless despite breathtaking technological advancement at hand, burdened with oxygen kits and seeming a couple of decades older than their actual age.
Hawa Badlo's video 'Time Bomb' presents the horror of the situation that India might be in by 2030, if pollution is allowed to build up unabated. The young little girl concludes video strongly questioning India: "Yeh meri life hai, Aur aap ki hone Wali" which asks out loud the generation of today, that if precautionary steps are not taken right away, human beings will fall in the "endangered species" category soon.
