New Delhi: This year's cracker-fuelled Diwali brought happiness and a ray of hope for many but the festival gifted Delhiites a thick blanket of smog.
As per reports, the air pollution level, which was already high before Diwali, rose to a much higher level after the festival ended.
Some experts fear that if this is the condition at present, then worst may follow in the future as winter is at the doorstep.

Smog
Smog is a kind of air pollution which is originally a mixture of smoke and fog in the air. It is a major problem which is faced by many cities, especially metropolitans and continues to harm human beings.
Smog is capable of inflaming breathing passages, reduces lung capacity to a considerable level, shortness of breath and many other conditions.
Ground-level ozone, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide carbon monoxide are especially harmful for senior citizens, children, and people with heart and lung conditions such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma.
