Fully grown humpback whale leaps into the air; photographer records close-up footage!

New Delhi: Humpback whales are fascinating creatures, provided they're at a good distance. Even though they are considered gentle giants, they're huge and if fully grown, they can weigh as much as 80,000 pounds.

Despite this, people across the world, especially marine enthusiasts, love to go on the lookout in the deep ocean waters for a glimpse of the giant whales, primarily because they are really rare.

They stick to themselves and barely reveal themselves around humans, which is the reason that makes the video you are about to watch, extremely priceless.

Australian photographer Beau Pilgrim had the most unexpected experience while treading the deep waters.

An unsuspecting Pilgrim was photographing while swimming and was taken aback when a fully grown adult male humpback whale breached landing metres.

It came out of nowhere and leaped out of the water into the air, crashing back down again. All this happened just a few feet away from the photographer.

Luckily enough, Pilgrim caught the entire event on video and shared his experience with us.
