New Delhi: Whales are curious creatures and have long since been a subject of interest for scientists and environmentalists alike.
Technological advancement is a boon in this regard, which helps them reach into the depths of animal behaviour, in this case, marine animals which are harder to reach than land animals.
Now, scientists are taking the help of a drone, which will allow them to intervene without actually interfering in their lives.
The team of scientists in question aim at understanding the most natural activities of these whales, especially in their breeding and calving grounds.
The drone has helped marine scientists in Australia capture a magnificent image of a rare baby white whale with its mother.
The footage was taken near Augusta in south-west Australia.
Suction cup tags along with the drone were used by the scientists to shoot a footage in order to study fine-scale movements, acoustic communications, ambient noise, calf suckling rates and body condition of these whales.
The video of this rare white baby whale shows her frolicking in the water while she nuzzles with her mother.
