It is a United Nations initiative to celebrate clean water and bring attention to those who don’t have enough of it.

It's also a day to understand the valuable significance of water, discuss and conserve this finite resource in the future. It's important to remember that a drop of water is powerful and life giving.

Water conservation should become an essential practice in all regions, even in areas where water seems abundant.

We should use water as efficiently as possible because we rely alot on water.

Here are a few tips on how to reuse waste water:

Use a shower bucket

Using a shower bucket is one of the simplest way to recycle water at home. When you’re warming up the shower, stick a bucket under the running tap until you’re ready to get in. You’ll be surprised at how much water you collect.

Install a rain barrel

Start collecting rainwater to water your garden instead of that whole municipal water. Install a rain barrel underneath the gutter’s downspout to collects the most water when it rains.

Create a rain garden

One should create a rain gardens as it take advantage of land’s natural water runoff to nourish the plants that live there. It is constructed so that it reuses water that would otherwise run off into the sewage systems.

Collect the overflow water from watering plants

Extra water usually runs out of those drainage holes at the bottom of the pot when you water the plants. So, to avoid waste water, place your plants in deep trays to collect that water so that you can reuse water fromyour larger plants to water the smaller ones.

Install gray water system

Gray water is waste water that doesn’t contain sewage. One should install a gray water system, so that the water doesn’t go to waste.

The theme for this year World Water Day is "Why waste water?" which is about reducing and reusing wastewater.
