Babri mosque demolition undesirable: Govindacharya
Senior BJP leader K N Govindacharya on Friday termed the demolition of Babri mosque at Ayodhya as undesirable but said the act was a spontaneous reaction on part of the karsevaks to give vent to their anger following politicisation of the Ram temple issue.
Senior BJP leader K N Govindacharya on Friday termed the demolition of Babri mosque at Ayodhya as undesirable but said the act was a spontaneous reaction on part of the karsevaks to give vent to their anger following politicisation of the Ram temple issue.
The demolition of the Babri mosque is indeed undesirable. But the grudge among the Hindus on the issue cannot be ignored either, He told reporters at the inauguration of a Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) camp in Kumbhnagar.
On VHP's decision to announce the date for construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya during its Dharam Sansad in Kumbhnagar next week, Govindacharya said it was for the VHP to decide and his comment on the issue was unwarranted.
On economic reforms, he said the time to review the liberalisation process had come as the results were not positive.
Since the liberalisation process was initiated by the Narasimha Rao government, the NDA government could not reverse it, the BJP leader said.
Govindacharya said he had taken two year's political hibernation to study the impact of the liberalisation process on Indian economy.
