In a major encounter, security forces gunned down three Hizb militants at Theru village on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, he said.
He said a civilian was also killed during the encounter which started when Jammu and Kashmir Police and Rashtriya Rifles jointly raided a house to flush out the hiding militants. Three AK assault rifles, a pistol, some ammunition and grenades were recovered from the slain militants, he said.
Security forces shot dead two militants in Anantnag district in south Kashmir early on Monday, the spokesman said.
