Vajpayee, who is in Washington on a four-day official visit, will meet Clinton in the White House on Friday. The offcials said that the Clinton administration will be bequeathing to the next administration a solid enough foundation that will endure. They cited the statements of advisers of Republican Presidential candidate George Bush and Democratic candidate and Vice President Al Gore to show that there was no going back in Indo-American relations.
