Ghaziabad: The Traffic Police here has challaned 30,000 vehicle owners for violating rules and collected fines to the tune of Rs 58 lakh in November which was celebrated as its 'Traffic Month', the police said.

During the closing ceremony of the 'Traffic Month', Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh said that at least 7,335 two-wheeler drivers were found not wearing helmets, plying on the wrong side, using pressure horns, triple-riding, jumping red-lights, driving without seat belts and not carrying their license.


Every year in November, the Traffic police launches the awareness programme.


District Magistrate Ritu Maheshwari distributed prizes to police officials for their performance in traffic control and contribution in spreading awareness.
