Panaji: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has named ex-IG (Prisons) Elvis Gomes as the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections.
AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reportedly announced his name on Monday.
AAP has vowed a corruption-free rule in the state if it comes to power.
The elections are likely to be held in February.
The party has already declared 32 of the 40 candidates in Goa.
Kejriwal was expected to arrive in Goa on Monday where he plans to hold a public rally.
“He will also spell out the AAP’s roadmap for the state,” a media report quoted a party leader as saying.
