Panaji assembly election result 2017 LIVE: The battle for Goa`s capital

Panaji: Goa's capital Panaji witnessed high-decibel campaigning in the Goa assembly elections 2017.

The four-cornered battle was fought between the BJP, Congress, AAP and the grand alliance of

Shiv Sena, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM).

The candidate representing BJP from Panaji constituency is Sidharth Sripad Kuncalienker, while Valmiki Naik is in the fray from the AAP.

The Goa Assembly Election 2017 witnessed a voter turnout of 83 per cent. 

The ruling BJP has expressed confidence of coming back to power in the sunshine state.

The exit polls have also suggested that the BJP may emerge as the single largest party- possibly with a majority.
