After Gurugram incident, 9-yr-old molested inside toilet by school staffer in Panipat

Panipat: Just days after the sensational murder of a Class II student Pradyuman Thakur at Gurugram's Ryan International School, a a nine-year-old girl was molested inside the school premises in Haryana's Panipat. 

Police said the child was found with scratches on her neck and shoulders.

The child reportedly told her parents that the accused was one of the housekeeping guys who was employed at the school and tried to molest her sexually. 

A case has been registered under various sections of the POCSO Act against the unidentified man after the girl’s father reported the matter to the police, the Station House Officer of Women Police Station in Panipat, sub-inspector Kavita said. 

"The girl was found crying by her teachers in the school yesterday. She insisted on meeting her parents. Her parents were immediately called and she left with them. At home, she narrated her ordeal," the SHO said.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the man tried to sexually assault her but the exact sequence of events is yet to be understood, reported PTI. 

"We are questioning the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school and trying to verify details from the CCTV cameras," PTI quoted the official as saying. 

As parents held protests outside the school, an official of the Education Department met the school's principal and staff members. 

Scores of parents gathered outside the school and protested against the administration.

The incident comes close on the heels of the alleged murder of a Class II boy at a Gurugram school. Seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur was found with his throat slit in the school washroom on 8 September.
