YAMUNANAGAR: The final words of the school principal, who was allegedly murdered by Class 12 student, was “Mujhe bachao, mujhe bachao (Save me, Save me)”
Ritu Chhabra reportedly kept repeating these words till she was conscious and was on her way to the hospital, reported Indian Express.
On Saturday, the 47-year-old Swami Vivekanand School principal Ritu Chhabra was sitting in her office, when the alleged minor accused – also a student of the same school walked in. The student pumped four bullets into her with a .32 bore gun.
The student had been recently suspended and expelled from the school.
On Sunday, a local court sent the Class XII student to two days’ police remand.
Police said the boy's father is a financier and the pistol used in the incident belonged to the father and is a licensed one.
"School staff, students and teachers caught the accused while he was trying to escape and handed him over to police," said a senior police officer.
Police said that prima facie investigations suggest that the boy was accompanied by at least one of his friends.
More than five rounds were fired, triggering panic and horror among the school staff, teachers and students.
The injured principal was rushed to the hospital and declared dead by doctors after some time.
