Panipat: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said a state level survey will be conducted from May 1 to July 31 to provide benefits of state-sponsored welfare schemes to the needy.
Survey of the families living below the poverty line would again be conducted to provide concrete houses to those who do not have their own, and offer self-employment opportunities to the unemployed through skill development, he said.
Medical colleges would be opened in Panipat and seven other districts to provide high level healthcare services to the people and medical education to students, Khattar said at the state level Maharshi Kashyap Parkashotsav here.
Work has already begun on Maharshi Vishwakarma Kaushal Vishwavidyalaya in Panipat and a grant of Rs 21 lakh would be given for the construction of hostel to be named after Maharshi Kashyap, the Chief Minister said.
Over the request of the organising board, he said if the panchayat of Garh organising board, he said if the panchayat of Garh Sarnai village provided land, the state government would give Rs 21 lakh for the construction of school or hostel so that students could get better education.
The state government has started buses on 150 routes for girl students and set up girls' colleges within a radius of 20 km.
Earlier, he and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to Maharshi Kashyap.
Union Minister of State for Food Processing Sadhvi Niranjan said the present state government had spread the message of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita from Kurukshetra which no other government did.
The BJP government is working for the uplift of Scheduled Castes and backward classes, Niranjan added.
