New Delhi: A freshly brewed cup of coffee is certainly the best way to kick-start your day. And bringing cheers to coffee lovers, a new study has suggested that consuming moderate amounts of coffee may have more health benefits than risks.


 


While many people drink coffee to make them more energetic and active, drinking too much of it can cause unpleasant side effects.


Caffeine, a stimulant and the active ingredient in coffee, can keep you awake and alert. Heavy daily caffeine (more than 500 to 600 mg/day) can cause problems such as -


  • Insomnia
  • Nervousness
  • Restlessness
  • Stomach upset

 


  • Headaches or dizziness
  • Dehydration
  • Abnormal heart rhythms

Perhaps, caffeine may not be safe for peole who are highly sensitive to its effects or who are undergoing certain medications.
