HYDERABAD: A 30-year-old man allegedly raped his cousin's three-year-old daughter in Hyderabad. The accused has been identified as Anjappa. After a complaint was filed against him, he has been arrested.

A case under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused.


The minor's father had filed a police complaint stating that he had left his 3-year-old daughter at his cousin's residence who later allegedly raped her. The minor has been shifted to a government hospital for treatment. The child will also be referred to the 'Bharosa' centre, a centre to support women and children who are victims of violence, for counselling later.


Earlier in June this year, a 55-year-old man allegedly raped a minor girl in Hyderabad at his rented room. The accused befriended the girl by buying her chocolates, biscuits, etc while she used to cycle in the area. The 14-year-old after informed her mother of the incident after which she filed a complaint against him. Cases under the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act were filed against him. The accused was later arrested.
