Patna: A top police officer in Bihar's Katihar fired as many as ten bullets in the air during a farewell party held in his honour at the Railway Golf Grounds, according to news agency ANI.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Mohan Jain was at a farewell party celebrating his transfer to CBI when he whipped out a pistol and repeatedly fired into the air in celebration. Surrounded by people who were busy singing and clapping their hands, Jain too appeared nonchalant as he casually fired - not paying any attention to the onlookers filming the scene.

While no one was injured in the celebratory firing, the firing in itself - and that too from a senior police officer - is being seen as a serious matter. "This is unacceptable. We will investigate the matter and take strict action against him. His central posting has also been stayed till then," said SK Singhal, Additional Director General of Police.
