New Delhi: The Haryana unit president of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Nafe Singh Rathee, was tragically killed in Jhajjar district on Sunday. Rathee, a former MLA, was traveling in an SUV in Bahadurgarh town when unidentified assailants in a car ambushed him.

INLD leader Abhay Chautala informed PTI about Rathee's fatal shooting in Jhajjar district. He criticized the government for its failure to provide Rathee with adequate security despite known threats to his life, and urged the chief minister and the home minister to resign.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Manish Sharma from Brahma Shakti Sanjeevani Hospital said that they received four individuals in the evening who had been shot. Rathee and another individual were brought in already deceased. Despite the medical team's efforts to administer CPR, they had already succumbed to severe bleeding.
"In the evening, four people who had been shot were brought to Brahma Shakti Sanjeevani Hospital. Out of them, two had suffered heavy bleeding and were brought dead, still, we tried CPR but they couldn't be saved," said Dr Sharma
"Former MLA Nafe Singh and another individual, Jaikishan, were among those brought in already deceased. They had sustained gunshot wounds to the neck, back, and shoulder. The presence of multiple wounds indicates multiple rounds of gunfire. Sudden damage to major blood vessels resulted in significant blood loss, ultimately leading to cardiac arrest," Dr Sharma added.

The police has initiated a probe into the matter and more details are awaited.
