Faridabad, Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: After Jammu and Kashmir’s record assembly elections in terms of voter turnout, Haryana is now set to elect 90 members for the Legislative Assembly, with voting to take place on Saturday (Oct 5). The results will be declared on October 8, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The previous Assembly elections were held in October 2019. After the election, a coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jannayak Janta Party formed the state government, with Manohar Lal Khattar becoming the Chief Minister.


Faridabad is one of the 22 districts of Haryana. It is also a key political battleground. It has six constituencies namely- Prithla, Faridabad NT, Badkhal, Ballabgarh, Faridabad and Tiagaon.

11: 40 AM: BJP candidate Vipul Goel is currently in the lead in Faridabad with 4754 votes. INC candidate Lakhan Kumar Singla is in the second position with 3462 votes.


10: 45 AM: Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mool Chand Sharma was leading from Ballabgarh constituency as counting of votes was underway.


9: 22 AM: Counting of votes has begun in Haryana's Faridabad. Initial trends show that Vipul Goel of BJP is leading. Narender Pal Singh Baghel of INLD is currently in the second place.


9: 06 AM: After the EVMs are opened, the fate of all the candidates will be decided as to who is winning from which seat. If we talk about the Faridabad Assembly seat of Faridabad district, this time BJP had cut the ticket of its current MLA Narendra Gupta and fielded Vipul Goyal, while Lakhan Kumar Singla got the ticket from Congress.


8:50 AM: Part of the National Capital Region (NCR), Faridabad, is strategically located along the Delhi-Mathura-Agra National Highway 44, which runs through the district’s centre. The district spans 741 square kilometres and, according to the 2011 Census, has a population of 1,809,733.
