Gujarat Earthquake: According to the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority, an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 3.4 struck 12 km north-northeast of Talala in Saurashtra around 1518 hours today.

The district administration said no injuries or property damage were reported. On January 26, 2001, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Gujarat, with its epicentre in Kutch. It was India's third largest and second most devastating event in two centuries. A vast number of towns and villages in the district were nearly completely destroyed, killing around 13,800 people and injuring 1.67 lakh.
