She declared that the law would be enforced in Bengal 'only over her dead body'. Hundreds of partymen and supporters marched with her carrying placards and raising slogans against the government.
In Delhi, the DMRC shut down the exit and entry gates of several stations in view of the rising tension in the national capital. A SWAT team conducted a drill outside the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police asked the students to end the protest and maintain law and order. Security was also beefed outside the official residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
