Manufacturing in China drops to a three-year low due to Covid surge

The media reported that the coronavirus pandemic has greatly impacted manufacturing in China, causing it to reach its worst level in almost three years in December. According to South China Morning Post, citing data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the manufacturing purchasing managers' index dropped to 47 in December, the lowest it has been since a reading of 35.7 in February 2020.
