Corona Update: 3,095 new Covid cases were reported in India in the previous 24 hours, a 40% increase from the day before. According to statistics from the Union health ministry, the weekly positivity rate is 1.71 percent, and the daily positivity rate is 2.7%. The number of infections on Thursday is the greatest in almost six months. On October 2 of last year, 3,375 cases were recorded from India.

Maharashtra Sees 700 Cases In A Day

On Thursday, Maharashtra recorded the highest single-day detection of Covid-19 cases in more than five months at nearly 700. The state's active case tally has now surpassed 3,000 due to the sharp increase in infections, which doubled in just nine days. Districts have been requested to increase testing in order to find and isolate positive cases by the state health department. Thursday saw 694 cases registered in Maharashtra, up from the 483 cases recorded on Wednesday. On October 27, 2022, 972 cases were recorded.
