Haryana Nuh Violence Highlights: Two home guards were killed and at least 15 others, including several cops, were injured on Monday as violence broke out in Haryana's Nuh district. The clashes took place after a mob tried to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession and pelted stones and set cars on fire. VHP's 'Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra' was stopped by a group of men near Nuh's Khedla Mod and as news of the violence in Muslim-dominated Nuh broke, violence also erupted in Sohna in neighbouring Gurugram district.
Prohibitory orders banning the assembly of people have been clamped in Nuh and Gurugram districts. Mobile internet services have also been suspended in the violence-hit Nuh district till Wednesday to contain the 'intense communal tension'.
Schools and colleges have been shut in Gurugram, Faridabad and Palwal districts on Tuesday as a precautionary measure.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar called violence in Nuh 'unfortunate' and appealed for calm. He also said that the guilty will not be spared at any cost and assured of strict action against them.
