Nagaland, Meghalaya Elections 2023 Live: The total percent of voters in Meghalaya turn out to be 44.73% and 57.06% in Nagaland till 1 PM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also encouraged people, particularly young and first-time voters, to turn out in record numbers in both states. Almost 13 lakh voters in Nagaland will decide the fate of 183 candidates running for 59 of a total of 60 seats. Meanwhile, in Meghalaya, voting is underway in 59 of 60 Assembly seats, with over 21.6 lakh voters deciding the destiny of 369 candidates. The polls will be open until 4 p.m., and the ballots will be counted on March 2.

Polling will take place in 59 of the 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya as well. Due to the death of one of the candidates, voting in the Sohiong constituency has been postponed. There are almost 2,160,000 persons who are eligible to vote. There are 3,419 voting stations in all. There are 640 "vulnerable" polling booths and 323 "critical" polling booths. There are 369 candidates in total, with 36 of them being women.

Ernest Mawrie, president of the Meghalaya BJP, voted on Monday, certain that the voters will return him to the Assembly from the West Shillong constituency. The state's 59 Assembly constituencies are represented by 3,419 voting booths. The voting will be open until 4 p.m. on Monday. "I believe that with the love and support of the people, I will be able to represent this constituency again," Mawrie told ANI on Monday.
