Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2 Voting Live Coverage Updates: Voting for Lok Sabha Chunav 2024 was held for 88 seats across 13 states and union territories oday.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2 Voting LIVE: Voting was held today for 88 constituencies across 13 states and union territories in the second phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Over 1,200 candidates, including 4 candidates from Outer Manipur, were in the fray. Their fates have been sealed in the EVMs today. Over 76% voter turnout was recorded till 5 PM across all 88 constituencies. Tripura has recorded the highest voter turnout at 77.53%, while Kerala witnessed a low turnout at 63.97%.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Congress leaders, including Malikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi urged voters to vote in record numbers. The voting, which began at 7 AM, continued until 6 pm. The Election Commission provides an extra hour buffer period for voters who are already present in the voting queue.  

Nearly 15.88 crore voters - 8.08 crore men, 7.8 crore women and 5,929 third-gender electors -  were eligible to vote in this phase. This also includes 3.28 crore young voters in the age group 20-29 years. In this phase of polls, 34.8 lakh first-time voters casted their votes. In Phase 1, voting was held for 109 seats on April 19. The first phase recorded a voter turnout of around 62 per cent. The counting of votes for all seven phases of Lok Sabha Elections will be held on June 4.
