Ranchi Assembly Election Result 2024 Highlights: BJP`s Chandreshwar Prasad Singh Wins With 107290 Votes
Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Highlights:
Chandreshwar Prasad Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Ranchi seat with total votes 107290. Singh won with a voting margin of 21949 votes against Mahua Maji of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Ranchi Assembly seat is one of the 7 assembly seats in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand.
A total of 18 candidates were in the fray for the Ranchi Assembly seat including several independents. Some of the key candidates being -- Pawan Kumar Choudhary (Independent), Uttam Yadav (Independent), Navindra Kumar Bharti (Independent), Samir Kumar Singh (Independent), Raj Kishor Mahto (Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha), Alok Kumar (Independent), Abhay Pratap Singh (Bahujan Samaj Party), Gautam Ram Peoples Party of India (Democratic), Priyanka Kumari (Independent), Kumar Abhishek Dubey (Rashtriya Jaihind Party), Chandreshwar Prasad Singh (Bharatiya Janata Party), Ayush Ranjan (Independent), Sujit Kumar Barnwal (Right to Recall Party), Mahtab Alam (All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen), Mahua Maji (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), Vivek Krishna (Independent), Imtesham Ali (Independent), Rani Kumari (Independent).
Jharkhand's ruling alliance comprising the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and CPI-ML, stormed into power, thereby claiming stakes to form the second consecutive government.
This is for the first time in the state's political history that the incumbent government is retaining power for the second term because no government has ever been re-elected in the state.
Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024 recorded a voter turnout of 67.74 percent, the highest since the formation of the state in 2000. The polling was held in two phases -- 43 seats on November 13, and 38 seats on November 20.

8.01 am: Counting Begins
8.20 am: Congress leader Rakesh Sinha says, "The results will come in our favour. People have shown their support, love and blessings to the candidates of 'Mahaghathbandhan'. The public in Jharkhand has said that they are not going to accept people like those who raise slogans like 'Batoge toh Katoge'...BJP used to claim in the Lok Sabha that they will get 400 seats. The situation is that the government is running on crutches. BJP will be reduced from 7-8 seats in Jharkhand. There will be no need for a resort. This soil of Jharkhand is very hard and the BJP has been constantly trying to demolish this soil through 'Operation Lotus', ED, Income Tax and CBI..."
8.30 am: State's Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar says, "One counting centre each has been set up in all 24 districts... All preparations have been made. The process has begun...Counting of postal ballots will begin at 8 am and EVM counting will begin at 8.30 am. The results of the first round will be declared by 9.30 am
9.02 am: BJP ahead with 27 seats, JMM with 25 seats in early trends
9.11 am: BJP candidate from Ranchi assembly seat CP Singh says, "...I am hopeful to win. NDA will form its government in Jharkhand with a huge majority. The way current government is running in Jharkhand, they have set records for corruption. No work has been done by this govt. The public is in the mood for a change..."
9.12 am: As the couting of votes is underway in Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo says, "Not only the counting of votes has started in Jharkhand but a new era is also starting with the end of misrule of Soren govt. Hemant Soren is on his way out and we will come back with a thumping majority."
9.19 am: BJP ahead with 35 seats, JMM with 30 seats in early trends
10.20 am: BJP's Chandreshwar Prasad Singh ahead with 5631 votes
11.30 am: BJP's Chandreshwar Prasad Singh ahead with 21028 votes
1.20 pm: BJP's Chandreshwar Prasad Singh ahead with 43584 votes
