UP Assembly Election results 2022: Samajwadi Party's Abdullah Azam Khan has won the Suar assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh with 1,26,162 votes, defeating Apna Dal (Soneylal)'s Haidar Ali Khan alias Hamza Mian with a margin of 61,103 votes. The fight on the Suar assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh was an interesting one as this was the first time since 2014 that a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally had fielded a Muslim candidate.
Samajwadi Party's Abdullah Azam Khan has won the Suar assembly seat with 1,26,162 votes. He has bagged a total of 59.19% of votes. While SP's Haider Ali Khan bagged 65,059 votes, BSP's Adhyapak Shanker Lal received 15,035 votes.
Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam Khan was fielded from the Suar seat. He was pitted against Haider Ali Khan, the heir of another political family, the Nawabs of Rampur, who is trying his luck on the ticket of Apna Dal (Sonelal).
Khan, notably, had figured in the first list of Congress candidates declared on January 13 but later joined Anupriya Patel's party.
In 2017, Abdullah had won the Suar assembly seat in his first election, bagging over 51 per cent of the votes polled in the constituency. BJP's Laxmi Saini was the runner-up with 26 per cent of the vote share.
