Technical education can't be provided through correspondence courses: Supreme Court

New Delhi: In a significant ruling, the Supreme Court on Friday ruled that technical education cannot be provided through the process of correspondence courses.

While passing the order, the apex court hailed the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which had earlier ruled out a degree in computer science through a distance education. 

Earlier, the Orissa High Court had allowed technical education by correspondence. The same order was set aside by the SC today.
