Gorakhpur: This weekend was a special one for Gorakhpur and its residents as Yogi Adityanath returned home for the first time after he assumed office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Yogi arrived here on a two-day visit on Saturday.
The CM yesterday was greeted with slogans of "Jai Shri Ram", "Vande Mataram" and "Bharatiya Janata Party Zindabad" as he waved to the crowd which was anxiously waiting for a glimpse of him.
He was facilitated at the Maharana Pratap Inter College where he addressed the crowd.
Yogi had started his speech raising the slogan of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram" thrice and had ended his speech with "Jai Shri Ram".
Asserting that there will be no appeasement of anyone, he had promised development for all without any discrimination on the basis of caste, religion or gender.
At the same time, among other things, Yogi had said that he intended to usher in development and progress of all sections of the state as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.
