South Korea October factory output fell on cancellation of Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The decline in South Korea`s October factory output was due to the cancellation of Samsung Electronics` fire-prone Galaxy Note 7 handset and repairs at steelmaking factories, a government statistics official told reporters on Wednesday.

A rise in retail sales in October was attributed to base effects and a government-led discount sale event during the month, he added.
