Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has spent Rs 5,893 crore on the agriculture sector in the last four years, which is 62 per cent higher than the amount spent during the previous regime, the state agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini said here on Thursday.
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government's four-year rule, the minister said the state has also provided agriculture grant of Rs 6,000 crore to 1.32 crore farmers.
He further said that the government is developing a world class agro tourism centre in Mount Abu and advisers for the project have been appointed.
Saini told reporters that recruitment for 4,136 various posts would be conducted in the agriculture sector and animal husbandry department.
He said in the last four years, the department conducted recruitment for 2,235 posts of agriculture observers and for 643 other positions.
The Vasundhara Raje government is going to complete four years in office on December 13.
