SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were neutralised in an encounter with the security forces at Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam on Wednesday morning.
According to the state police, there was no collateral damage. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered.
"On specific info, we launched search operation along with 15 RR & CRPF. Two militants killed. People are pelting stones. We are requesting them not to come near site so that we can clear the explosives which generally remain with militants," said V K Birdi, DIG, Central Kashmir, as reported by ANI.

A case has been filed and probe initiated in the incident.
The encounter took place in Nowgam's Soothu area, on the outskirts of Srinagar. Internet services were suspended in the region.

This comes two days after seven civilians were killed on Sunday in a blast at an encounter site in Laroo village in Kulgam district, after a gunfight between militants and security forces. Three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were eliminated in the incident.
On Friday, two terrorists were gunned down when they tried to attack the police in the Kralhaar area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
The police had recovered two AK-47 rifles with Under Barrel Grenade Launcher, three grenades, two Chinese pistols and other weapons from their possession.
