Srinagar: Under attack on the law-and-order front in Kashmir, the ruling PDP on Wednesday took to social media to convey to militants that looting banks was not a "holy war".
Two banks were looted in Pulwama in South Kashmir which has been a stronghold of the PDP since the inception of the party in 1999. The area has been a hot bed of militancy too.
"This money is from poor people who keep their hard earned savings in the bank.
"Looting banks and robbing poor people of their savings cannot be any 'holy war'," PDP said in its tweets.
The ruling party also blamed the Opposition National Conference and said the party "has a role in provoking the current instability in the state. They are stoking the fires for their own political game".
