BENGALURU: Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty was on Wednesday stabbed in his office in Bengaluru. He was reportedly stabbed thrice by a man who came to his office. Soon after the attack, he arrested by the Vidhana Soudha police.
Justice Shetty was rushed to the Mallya hospital where he has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU). State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed the incident and said that the Lokayukta is out of danger. He has been kept under observation and is being closely monitored. "A person stabbed the Lokayukta in Bengaluru, the accused has been taken into custody," Karnataka Home Minister confirmed.

The accused has been identified as Tejas Sharma who is said to be have been involved in multiple cases which are under investigation. Police are reviewing the CCTV footage of the office.
As per reports, he was stabbed in his chest and stomach.
Previously a judge in the Karnataka High Court from 1999 to 2004, Justice Shetty was recommended to be appointed as the Lokayukta of the state in January 2017.
