Patel agitation: As it happened on Monday

A bandh call has been given by Patel protesters for Monday, for the entire state of Gujarat to protest against Sunday's police action.

Ahmedabad: Situation started to turn normal in Gujarat on Monday, a day after a 'jail bharo' agitation by Patel (Patidar) leaders turned violent.

There has been violence. A person committed suicide. There have been lathi charges by the police. After such a major agitation, it is unfortunate that the Guj CM allegedly said that such agitations are a daily affair. It is indeed unfortunate that a State Government has taken such an insensitive stance on a major agitation. The Gujarat CM should have tried to find a solution to this agitation, rather than brushing it aside: Congress.
