New Delhi: During the upcoming COP-26 summit in Glasgow today (November 1), United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson is scheduled to urge the world leaders to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, British High Commission in India informed.
He will also urge them to take concrete steps on phasing out coal and halting deforestation as well as supporting developing nations on the frontline of the climate crisis with climate finance. PM Boris will also call for ambition, action and acceleration in the COP-26 keynote speech.
Earlier today, PM Narendra Modi concluded the first leg of his foreign trip and landed in Glasgow to attend the 26th Conference of Parties summit. PM Modi was received to the tune of Scottish bagpipes and was greeted by a large group of Indian diaspora representatives as he arrived at his hotel in Glasgow.
