Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Azamgarh - the parliamentary constituency of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav. The voting in Azamgarh will take place on May 12.

While Mulayam will contest from Mainpuri, his daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav will contest from Kannauj. Mainpuri will vote on April 23 and Kannauj on April 29.


On Sunday, the Election Commission announced that the Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases from April 11 and the results will be declared on May 23. The term of the present Lok Sabha ends on June 3.
