INDORE: The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has seized 5.2 kilograms of mephedrone or `meow-meow' drug, worth around Rs 50 lakh in international markets, and arrested one person.

Superintendent Sabiha Khan of the CBN's Indore unit said Aazaad Khan (35), resident of Mandsaur district, was arrested from Madhumilan Square here on December 5.


Some 5.2 kg of mephedrone was recovered from his possession.


Khan had come to Indore to hand over the contraband to someone else, the officer said, adding that he was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.


Mephedrone is also known as 'meow-meow' and 'MD'. In local drug circuits, one gram of this prohibited drug costs around Rs 6,000, according to CBN officials.
