Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has spent Rs 181.89 crore on advertisements and publicity of its schemes in FY 2016-17, the State Legislative Assembly was told today.
In a written reply to a query raised by Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat, Public Relations Minister Narottam Mishra said that Rs 181.89 crore has been spent so far in FY 2016-17 on publicity (advertisements, hoardings etc) related works of the government schemes.
He said that the public relations department was allocated a budget of Rs 255.87 crore for 2016-17.
The Congress leader had also sought a reply on the details of expenses on the publicity of ongoing 'Namami Devi Narmade - Sewa Yatra', an awareness campaign for the conservation of river Narmada.
The minister said that work orders for the publicity of the campaign have been issued and it is currently underway. Hence, its estimation cannot be told.
