Aurobindo Pharma JV company gets SEC nod for pneumococcal 15 valent jab
Aurobindo Pharma Ltd said its joint venture firm, Tergene Biotech, has received recommendation from subject expert committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) for pneumococcal 15-valent (PCV15) vaccine.
The subject expert committee (SEC) at its meeting held on December 21, 2022, has recommended grant of permission to Tergene to manufacture and market 15-valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide conjugate vaccine with three dose schedule for administration into the pediatric age group of 6, 10 and 14 weeks, Aurobindo Pharma said in a regulatory filing.

The rupee declined 9 paise to 82.74 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday as rising crude prices weighed on investor sentiment. Besides, foreign fund outflows put pressure on the domestic unit, forex dealers said.
At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened weak at 82.71 against the dollar, then slipped further to 82.74, registering a fall of 9 paise over its previous close. In the previous session on Monday, the rupee appreciated 17 paise to close at 82.65 against the US dollar.

Equity benchmarks began the trade on a positive note on Tuesday following firm trends in other Asian markets but later gave up all initial gains and were trading lower amid profit-taking.
Extending its previous day rally, the 30-share BSE Sensex had jumped 404.21 points to 60,970.63 in initial trade. On similar lines, the broader NSE Nifty climbed 119.45 points to 18,134.05.
However, later the 30-share BSE benchmark pared all early gains and quoted 74.9 points lower at 60,491.52, while the Nifty traded 15.10 points down at 17,999.50.
From the Sensex pack, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Power Grid, Titan, Asian Paints, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement and Bajaj Finance were the major winners.
Bajaj Finserv, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank and Bharti Airtel were the laggards.
