New Delhi: In a move to increase it sales in India, Xiaomi has cut the price of its Mi 5 by a huge mark of Rs 2,000 on the original price of Rs 24,999.
Post the cut, the Xioami Mi 5 is now available for Rs 22,999 on Mi.com.
Xiaomi said its smartphone sales in India has grown by 72 percent in the last two years and this cut in price is likely to help increase the sales.
The company, which entered the Indian market in 2014, gets a lion's share of its sales from online platform.
Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in March 2016 at Rs 24,999 and comes with a 5.15-inch ultra-thin bezel-less 16 LED display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 428 pixels-per-inch.
Othere features of the phone include a 3D-curved glass body made of Gorilla Glass 4, fingerprint scanner, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard memory.
Apart from the latest Adreno 530 GPU for ultimate gaming experience, it has a Kryo quadcore CPU with two of them clocked at 1.8 Ghz and the remaining two at 1.4 Ghz.
The smartphone wears 16-megapixel flat rear camera with dual tone flash, 6P lens, quick focus and 4-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS) and is assisted by a 2-micron pixel 4-megapixel secondary camera for selfies.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and supports quick charge.
The smartphone covers all LTE brands in India and comes with a VoLTE technology allowing user to make high-quality calls with all supported networks.
