New Delhi: Xiaomi on Friday launched two new 4G VoLTE capable gadgets in the Redmi smartphone line-the Redmi 4 and the Redmi 4A in China.
Since the previous generation of the smartphones the Redmi Note 3 and the Redmi 3S were the best sellers in India, chances are high that Xiaomi will launch the smartphones in India, which is the largest market for Xiaomi phones outside China, within a month of the China launch, as it did in the case of Redmi series.
Processor: The Redmi 4 to be available in two variants-with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (octa-core 2GHz) and with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (octa-core 1.4GHz).
The Redmi 4A, on the other hand comes with a Qualcomm 425 CPU
RAM: The Redmi 4 carries Snapdragon 625 with 3GB RAM. The Snapdragon 430 variant will feature 2GB RAM.
While the Redmi 4A comes with 2GB RAM.
Internal storage: The Redmi 4 with 2GB RAM variant will come with 16GB of internal memory, and the 3GB RAM Redmi 4 variant will come with 32GB RAM.
The Redmi 4A comes with 32GB of internal memory. The icing on the cake is that all the phones have expandable memory of up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
Display: The Redmi 4 fixe with a 5-inch 1080p display. On the other hand, the Redmi 4A has a 5-inch 720p screen.
Camera: All the smartphones sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Software and connectivity: All the variants launched run Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 and support 4G LTE connectivity option. The Redmi 4 also sports a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, which is absent in the Redmi 4A.
Body: Full metal unibody design and physical capacitive keys below the display.
Battery: The Redmi 4 is backed by a 4,100mAh battery, and the Redmi 4A has a 3,120mAh battery inside.
Price: While the Redmi 4 with Snapdragon 430 launched at CNY 699 (roughly Rs 6,905), the redmi 4 version with Snapdragon 625 is priced at CNY 899 (roughly Rs 8,888). On the other hand, the Redmi 4A was launched at CNY 499 (roughly Rs 4,929).
