New Delhi: Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has claimed that its flagship device, the Redmi Note 3 is the highest selling smartphone online in India with 2.3 million units sold till September.
Launch in March 2016, the company claims that it has sold 2.3 million units till September, i.e. 1 Redmi Note 3 in every 7 seconds.
Xiaomi further claims that one unit in every 9 smartphones shipped online is a Redmi Note 3.
To celebrate the occasion, Xiaomi has organised a game and challenged fans to type a given sentence in just 7 seconds to win a Redmi Note 3.
Players/challengers will also get a chance to win a Rs 100 coupon.
In August, the company announced that it had shipped 1.75 million units of the Redmi Note 3 in just five months of its launch.
Earlier in July, the Xioami Redmi Note 3 was also voted as India's favourite smartphone.
According to Antutu, the popular mobile benchmarking app, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was voted India's favourite smartphone charting the popularity table in the country with 12.7 percent votes.
While the Redmi Note 3 was the fifth popular Android device in the world, it was the most popular device in India, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Vietnam and Russia, the survey had said.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display smartphone powered by 1.4GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor.
It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variant.
While the 2GB RAM variant with 16GB internal memory is priced at Rs 9,999, the 3GB RAM variant with 32GB memory is priced at Rs 11,999.
Remdi Note 3 has been known for its powerful performance and strong battery backup which lasts up to 2 days with average usage.
